What’s in the bag? Dave and Tom Grip Edition.

With my set I have gone for a bit of a mix.

with the Golf Pride Multi Compound Align on the driver, I love the mix
of cotton cord in the upper hand area which is great for dealing with
the British weather and rubber in the lower hand for great feel, the
align ridge on the back of the grip also helps me square the club face
at impact.

On my irons I have the Golf Pride Z Grip Cord Align, these are firm and super grippy offering amazing feel.

the wedges I have midsize grips to stop my hands flicking through the
ball and on the LW – I have the multi compound plus 4 – the 4 layers of
tape on the bottom half make such a difference when needing ‘soft’ hands
around the greens.

went for a bit of a change this year having previously used the Golf
Pride Plus 4 Grips and the Lamkin Z5 over the last couple of seasons.
This year, after Jack recommended them I have gone for the Golf Pride Z-
Grip Cord through the bag. As Dave mentioned, they are a firm grip; in
fact, they are Golf Prides firmest cord grip. The Z Grip combines two
layers of texturing for feedback and a deep “Z”-shaped texture pattern
that winds vertically around the grip for control.

With the
weather still very dodgy the grips benefit from a moisture-wicking
brushed cotton cord for added stability and traction in all weather

They also look great for anyone who wants to add a stylish, fresh new look to their clubs.

you are interested in getting your clubs re-gripped please speak to
Josh or Jack who can run you through all the different options and sizes
available. Don’t forget, if you play on average 18 holes a week you
should get your clubs gripped once a year.

Lancashire Overseas Pro-AmLast week Jack Seve…

Lancashire Overseas Pro-Am

week Jack Severn was luckily invited to play in one of the biggest
pro-am events in Europe at Quinta Do Lago, Portugal. The field included
47 teams, including big-name players such as Peter Finch (Golf YouTube
Professional), Matthew Nixon (Challenge/European Tour Player) and David
Shakelady (Senior Tour Player and two-time winner this season).

Pro-Am was Stableford battled out over 3 courses at Quinta Do Lago.
After arriving 3 days early, so Jack and his team, captained by Matt
Maguire, could acclimatise to the unfamiliar good weather, the
competition ironically kicked off with some rather British weather
reducing the first round to just 9 holes. However, the weather cleared
and the rest of the week weather-wise was super. Jack is using this
competition to practice ready for the up and coming season, and pick the
brains of the other pros around him to help better his game.

has said he has learned a lot from the week and firmly knows where his
weaknesses and strengths lie. The pro shop assistant has two months
before his first main event being Euro Pro Q-School on the 1st and 2nd

He will be working hard with the team
around him to get himself into the best position possible to have a run
and potentially get a card. This, itself, will be a learning curve
where he can pit himself against other pros trying to play for a living
while playing as an amateur.

Feel free to pop in and ask him throughout the season how his season is going, you might just learn a thing or two.
